Usman Hayat
Usman Hayat (fictional name) led a diverse life in Pakistan. He was first engaged in dairy business and then decided to join the police force here in Pakistan. Due to economic problems he decided to go abroad. He paid an agent PKR 700,000 and started his journey towards Europe in November 2015. He stayed in Greece for six months before travelling to Austria in July 2016. He worked as a wage earner in Austria for several years before deciding to return to Pakistan in April 2021. He was referred to WELDO for assistance by BMI, Austria under the ERRIN program. Now Mr. Hayat is engaged in a dairy farm business in partnership and is happy to be back home. You see him cutting the grass for his buffaloes in the picture. WELDO is assisting several returnees like Mr. Hayat in rebuilding their lives.
Mr. Najeeb
Mr Najeeb (fictional name) has arrived back in Pakistan under the ERRIN project. He was referred by BAMF, Germany. Mr. Najeeb went to Europe in 2015. Mr. Najeeb with the help of his agent migrated from Pakistan and took the land route travelling from Iran > Turkey > Greece>Macedonia>Serbia>Hungary>Austria and eventually to Germany. In order to pay his agent he sold jewellery and his buffalo. Our reintegration specialist, Obaidullah Shameem, held the first reintegration meeting with the returnee on 8th April 2022. We will keep you updated on his reintegration process.
Mr. Imtiaz
Mr. Imtiaz (fictional name, on the left) decided to come back to Pakistan after living abroad for 17 years. He is eligible for reintegration assistance under the ERRIN program and has been referred by OFII. He will be opening a grocery store business that Mr. Hussain Ali Marwat (on the right) is helping him with. Mr. Hussain Ali Marwat joined WELDO in 2009 and has been providing return counselling and reintegration services to returnees since then. Mr. Imtiaz only made the decision to return after talking with several returnees who had already come back and were assisted by WELDO.
